About

Andrea von der Pfordten and Debbie Friedman have joined their talents as a design team. Andrea’s extensive horticultural knowledge combines with Debbie’s established background in fashion design.

Andrea von der Pfordten

Andrea developed her horticultural skills at renowned gardens such as Dumbarton Oaks and the Bishop’s Garden at the National Cathedral in Washington, DC. She oversaw residential projects in Georgetown while working for an upscale landscape design firm. Presently, Andrea shares her passion and know-how with clients as a garden coach. Her experiences have led her to create a sense of place unique to each situation, which flatters the clients’ surroundings.

Debbie Friedman

Debbie holds a graduate certificate in Landscape Design from George Washington University and is a Master Gardener in Montgomery County, MD. These credentials follow upon a successful career in the fashion industry, as well as being a professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. Debbie switched gears and fused her love for design with her enthusiasm for nature. She uses her experience and sense of style to develop gardens that are filled with texture and color and which have a deep impact on the visitor.
